The Basic Method

Getting Started

What does 'Object Thinking' mean?

APT can be described as an 'object oriented' approach to planning. To begin with, let's take all the mystery out of this term 'object oriented'.

In the APT method an 'object' can be defined as 'thing'.

It's any 'thing' that your mind can think about.  So anytime you see the word 'object', if you think 'thing' or 'thingummy'  you will be fine.

Objects can be tangible or intangible.

The purpose of this approach is to give you a way of managing your ideas and your thinking -- even if your thinking is fuzzy or incomplete. (APT even has a way of identifying and managing the 'things' you are not aware of.)

To fully explain this 'object oriented'  approach, I have simplified it down to four simple Key Concepts explanations. Three of these key concepts will be overviewed in this mini-seminar.

This first topic introduces Key Concept No. 1.  Its purpose is to introduce you to the visual way that  APT handles your ideas and other information.

For some, getting ideas and 'how-to' solutions out of your head and on to paper can be a major challenge.

The next two frames explains how this can be simplified.
